Hocking
Hills
Best Stays!
Welcome to Southeastern Ohio-
This last wilderness of Ohio...
The Hocking Hills are romantic and wild,
mysterious and haunting. We are cascading waterfalls, endless hiking trails, and
deep gorges. We're cabins, cottages, camping and inn rooms and an adventure close to home
and in the heart of Ohio.
This last wilderness of Ohio...
We're relaxing in a swing on the back porch with
a worn, paperback book and feeling the breeze blow off cool cheeks along
a rocky ridge above Old Man's Cave. We're
hiking in the cool sandy alcove inside Conkle's Hollow, the sweet scent of
hemlocks riding the breeze and warm, red sunsets slowly sinking into the
horizon.
This last wilderness of Ohio...
We're the Hocking Hills. Come
Visit Us. In the heart of Ohio.

Who
can't say they haven't gotten cabin fever in the middle of an Ohio Winter?
When the winter's got you down, the best thing to do is to get outside and
have some fun. Hocking Hills State Park offers some of the best cabin fever
busters in the state of Ohio. Folks can grab a trail-long or short-and take
off for a hike that's sure to get rid of the winter blues.
Try a shorter
route like Ash Cave or Cedar Falls but watch out for slippery spots.
If winter is in its deepest grips, the entire trail can be like one of those
plastic slides at a waterpark. You might want to try ice cleats
(attachments for the bottom of your boots with tiny, metal studs that help
you get traction in the snow) and make sure you dress warmly for the Arctic!
The wind can really blast through the cliffs! |

This part of Ohio is a mixture of old and new,
rugged forestlands and quaint towns. It is sprinkled with its
fair share of more than 12 state parks, three state forests and the sprawling
Wayne National Forest. Hiking, camping, fishing, horseback
riding and park naturalist programs are only a stones throw away from the many
rustic cabin and cottage rentals, campgrounds and bed and breakfast inns
dotting the landscape. |

Dining
If you're looking for fine dining, you don't have
to drive far. In Logan there are fast food restaurants on nearly every
corner and coffee shops with some of the best cups of joe around. In McArthur,
there's several good,
old-fashioned diners. If elegant meals are more to your tastes,
southeastern Ohio offers every type of dining experience from small, romantic
restaurants to large banquet facilities.

Talk about elegant! If you're looking for a
romantic addition to your Hocking Hills stay, try the Grouse Nest
Restaurant's Traveling Chef.
