It was a long winter. But warm weather is finally here! If you're planning on visiting the Hocking Hills, spring and early summer are the best times of the year to . . .
Check out the Waterfalls
Enjoy the waterfalls - Ash Cave, Cedar Falls and Old Man's Cave have beautifully cascading waterfalls this time of the year.
Bird Watch
Bird Watching - It's free and birds are just about everywhere you go in the Hocking Hills. Bird Watching is the fastest growing outdoor pursuit! Winter bird watching in the Hocking Hills is some of the best in the country.
Many unique woodland species call this area home such as the huge Pileated Woodpecker, elusive Ruffed Grouse and the many forest songbirds. To find specific birds at each park in the region, go to: www.birdhocking.com.
Go Ghost Hunting

Moonville Tunnel, Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave have ghostly legends passed down through the ages. From the ghost of a railway engineer seen at Moonville Station from the late 1800s to baying hounds at Old Man's Cave, there are plenty of mysterious places to search for adventure in the Hocking Hills.
Although
Hocking Hills State Park closes at dusk, the park offers ghost hunting
forays throughout the year with Haunted Hocking programs. You can also
explore the ghostly legends yourself with the book Haunted Hocking - A
Ghost Hunter's Guide. You can purchase it at Grandma Fayes, Hocking
Hills Visitor Center, Fiddlestix and Amazon.com.
